How Kanvas works
Kanvas is a canvas-native token launchpad. Every asset on it is minted from a drawing made by hand, in the browser, stroke by stroke. No uploads, no copies: the artwork is the core identity of every coin, and its provenance is recorded from the first stroke to the final signature. This page documents the full stack, from pointer input to on-chain settlement.
Overview
On conventional launchpads, a coin's artwork is just a file: anyone can save it and relaunch it within minutes of going live. Kanvas inverts the model: the drawing is the primitive. Identity, provenance and discoverability all derive from a single hand-made artwork that cannot be pasted, uploaded or regenerated.
- 1Draw
The creator draws directly on the protocol canvas. Every stroke is captured as raw vector data: position, pressure and timing.
- 2Render
The stroke log is rasterised into a canonical 1024 × 1024 artwork, deterministically, from the same data anyone can replay.
- 3Commit
A cryptographic fingerprint of the stroke log is bound to the launch, sealing the artwork's provenance at mint time.
- 4Sign
The creator's own wallet signs the launch transaction. The protocol never sees, stores or touches a private key.
- 5Live
The token trades instantly on an automated bonding curve and appears on the Wall with its full timelapse.
- 6Original
The drawing is minted as a 1-of-1 Kanvas Original NFT directly into the creator's wallet.
Kanvas treats a memecoin as what it has always really been: an image people rally around. The protocol simply removes everything else and makes the image impossible to fake.
Vamp-resistant architecture
A vamp is a copycat deployment: a third party takes a trending token's artwork, relaunches it within seconds and diverts market attention and liquidity away from the original. On conventional launchpads the artwork is a file, and a file can be saved and re-uploaded by anyone. On Kanvas, artwork is not a file you can bring: it only exists as strokes drawn on the protocol canvas, and every new launch is checked against every coin that came before it.
| Attack vector | Conventional launchpads | Kanvas |
|---|---|---|
| Image re-upload | Saved and re-uploaded in seconds | Ingestion disabled; canvas-origin only |
| Paste / drag-and-drop | Accepted | Blocked at the input layer |
| Stroke-log replay | Not applicable | Refused by exact fingerprint match |
| Moved or resized copy | Undetected | Refused by perceptual duplicate detection |
- Uploaded image files, of any format.
- Pasted or dragged-in content.
- A stroke log that already belongs to a coin.
- Artwork visually matching an existing coin, even moved, resized or lightly edited.
With no ingestion pathway and protocol-level duplicate detection, the conventional vamp playbook has no executable attack surface on Kanvas. Manual re-creation by hand is the sole residual vector, and it necessarily produces a distinct asset with an independent Stroke Ledger, a unique cryptographic fingerprint and a later, verifiable launch timestamp, indexed after the original on the Wall.
Canvas Engine
The drawing surface is a purpose-built, low-latency rendering engine. It is designed so that ink lands under the pen with no perceptible lag, whether the drawing has three strokes or three thousand.
Finished strokes are baked to a static layer. Only the stroke in progress is redrawn each frame, so frame cost stays flat as the artwork grows.
The engine reads every hardware sample the device reports, not one per frame, for smooth, faithful lines at any drawing speed.
Stylus pressure shapes the line width in real time. Mouse and touch input get velocity-based dynamics that feel just as natural.
All strokes live in a fixed 1024-unit coordinate space, so the same artwork renders pixel-perfect on a phone, a tablet or a 5K display.
// stroke record, as captured by the engine
{
c: colour index // 0..23, fixed protocol palette
w: brush size // 3 | 5 | 12 | 26 | 52 | 90 canvas units
e: eraser // true | false
p: stylus pressure // true when a pen reported real pressure
t0: start offset (ms) // from the first stroke of the session
pts: [[x, y, pressure, dt], ...]
}Lines, rectangles and ellipses, dragged out by hand and recorded as strokes like everything else.
Every stroke reflected across the canvas as it is drawn, for faces, logos and symmetric designs.
A 24-colour protocol palette plus any custom colour, across 6 brush sizes.
Every tool on the canvas produces hand-made strokes. Shapes and mirrored strokes are captured, timed and replayable exactly like freehand ink, so Proof-of-Hand and duplicate detection apply to everything.
Proof-of-Hand
Proof-of-Hand is the protocol's authenticity layer. It establishes that an artwork was produced by a human hand on the Kanvas canvas, in real time, rather than imported from somewhere else.
This is not a video. It is the stroke log, redrawn point by point in the rhythm it was captured.
- Strokes
- 11
- Sample points
- 300
- Drawing time
- 7.9 s
No client-side system can make automated drawing impossible. Proof-of-Hand raises the cost of faking dramatically and makes every artwork auditable, so the community can see exactly how each coin was made.
Stroke Ledger
The Stroke Ledger is the provenance record of every coin. At launch, the full stroke log is serialised into a canonical form and fingerprinted. The fingerprint is bound to the launch, so any later edit to the drawing, however small, produces a different fingerprint and fails verification.
log = canonical(strokes) // stable key order, fixed precision
fingerprint = sha256(log)
image = render(log, 1024, 1024)
verify(coin) := sha256(canonical(coin.strokes)) == coin.fingerprint
&& render(coin.strokes) == coin.imageThe same stroke log always renders the same artwork. The image is a pure function of the data.
One changed coordinate anywhere in the log breaks the fingerprint match.
Any coin's timelapse can be replayed from its log, on the Wall or anywhere else.
Kanvas Originals
Every coin launched on Kanvas comes with its Kanvas Original: the drawing itself, minted as a 1-of-1 NFT directly into the creator's wallet. The coin trades on its market; the Original is the artwork, owned outright by the artist who drew it.
Every Original belongs to the Kanvas Originals collection, recognised across Solana wallets and marketplaces.
The Original carries the same artwork, stroke log and fingerprint as its coin. It is the certified first edition of the drawing.
A 5% royalty on every resale: 4% to the artist, 1% to the protocol, enforced at the asset level.
- The Original mint is prepared together with the launch and approved in the same single wallet signature.
- The launch settles first. The Original is minted only after the coin is confirmed live.
- If the launch does not land, the Original transaction is never sent and nothing is charged for it.
- Should the creator's signed mint fail to settle for any reason, the protocol mints the Original at its own cost. Every coin receives its Original.
Creators keep 80% of their coin's creator fees and own the original artwork as an NFT. Two assets from one drawing.
Launch pipeline
From the final stroke to a live market, and the Original in your wallet, takes one review screen and one signature.
- 1Review
The creator watches the timelapse, confirms the artwork and optionally sets a first buy in SOL.
- 2Package
The artwork and its metadata are pinned to content-addressed storage, and the stroke log is fingerprinted.
- 3Assemble
The launch engine builds two transactions: the launch itself (mint creation, bonding curve initialisation, the optional first buy and the locked fee split, in one atomic bundle) and the Kanvas Original mint.
- 4Sign
The creator's wallet signs both in a single approval. Nothing executes without that signature, and nothing can be added to it afterwards.
- 5Settle
Solana confirms the launch in seconds. The coin is tradable immediately and indexed onto the Wall.
- 6Mint
Only once the coin is live, the Kanvas Original is minted into the creator's wallet. If the launch never lands, the NFT is never charged.
Creation, first buy and fee split settle in the same transaction. Either everything lands, or nothing does: no half-launched coins, no sniping window in between.
Signature addresses
Every Kanvas token is minted at a signature address: a contract address carrying the protocol's mark in its final characters. It is visible anywhere the address appears, from wallets to explorers to chat, so a Kanvas original is identifiable at a glance.
Signature addresses are computed ahead of time and held in a rotating pool, so launches never wait on address generation.
Each address mints exactly one coin. Once used, it is retired from the pool permanently.
The mark sits in the address itself. No lookup, no registry, no extra trust required.
Bonding curve & graduation
Every coin launches on an automated bonding curve. There is no presale, no allocation and no team supply: price is set purely by buys and sells against the curve, and liquidity is available from the first second.
Each buy moves the price up the curve, each sell moves it down. Early supporters get the best price, and anyone can exit at any time against the curve's reserves.
price(supply) increases monotonically with supply
buy -> SOL in, tokens out, price up
sell -> tokens in, SOL out, price downCreator economics
Artists are paid for their art. Every trade on a coin generates creator fees, and 80% of them flow to the creator's wallet, on the curve and after graduation, for as long as the coin trades. The remaining 20% is the protocol share, and it is allocated entirely to buybacks.
Creator rewards accrue on every trade, forever, with no expiry and no claim deadline.
The protocol share is not treasury revenue: it is deployed into buybacks, returning value to the market.
The 80 / 20 split is written on chain in the launch transaction itself and can never be changed afterwards, by anyone.
The Wall
The Wall is the public gallery of every coin launched on Kanvas, newest first. It is a purely visual index: artwork, live market data and a one-tap timelapse replay for each coin.
Browse by what coins look like, the way memes are actually found and shared.
Every coin's creation replays from its Stroke Ledger, straight from the Wall.
Security model
Your wallet signs every launch and every trade. The protocol never holds, sees or requests a user's private key.
Transactions are built in the browser and shown to your wallet in full before you sign anything.
With no file inputs anywhere, an entire class of malicious-file and content-injection attacks does not exist.
Once a coin is live, its artwork and metadata cannot be changed by anyone, including the protocol.
Kanvas will never DM you, never ask for a seed phrase and never ask you to sign anything outside the launch flow on this site.

FAQ
Not through any conventional vector. Image ingestion is disabled, pasting is blocked, and every launch is checked against every existing coin for exact and near-duplicate artwork. A manual re-creation by hand is a distinct asset with its own Stroke Ledger and a later launch timestamp.
No. There is no upload anywhere in the product. If it wasn't drawn on the canvas, it can't become a coin.
A Solana wallet with enough SOL for network fees, plus your first buy if you want one. Then draw, give your coin a name and ticker, review and sign.
No. Every launch is compared against every existing coin, and artwork that matches one, even moved, resized or lightly edited, is refused. Every Kanvas coin is a 1-of-1.
The NFT of your drawing. Every launch mints it directly into your wallet as a 1-of-1, part of the Kanvas Originals collection. You can hold it, show it or sell it; every resale pays you a 4% royalty.
About 0.01 SOL, included in the same approval as your launch. It is only minted, and only charged, once your coin is live.
No. Coins here are memes with markets attached. Prices can go to zero. Only use money you can afford to lose.
